The product’s active substance is a cationic polymer containing nitrogen, with molecular weight of approx. 1000, chemically classifiable as hexamethyl chlorophenyl biguanide- digluconate. It is a powerful biocide on a large number of bacteria, yeasts, fungi, and algae, also in low concentrations.

BIOSAN CLOREXIDIN exploits the properties of the basic active substance, therefore it is a sanitizer suitable for many applications in the food industry and is extremely versatile thanks to some peculiarities:

  • It is neutral and the concentrations of use are slightly irritating for the skin, therefore the product can be handled by hand.
  • It is compatible with stainless steel, plastic materials, rubber and all materials that generally make up equipment employed in the food industry.
  • The concentrations of use are slightly foaming therefore they can also be used in recycling phases.
  • High residual power: the product remains active for a long period of time, also on residual dirt.

BIOSAN CLOREXIDIN can be used as sanitizer in all food industries:

Milk-dairy industry: moulds, planking for maturing products, pasteurizers, packaging machines, churns, plies.

Canning industry: work surfaces, grinding systems, conveyor belts, cold rooms, various equipment and tools.

Beverage industry: storage tanks, pasteurizers, pumps, mixers, pipes and filling machines.

METHODS OF USE

BIOSAN CLOREXIDIN boasts good sanitizing properties if used in solutions that range from 0.2 to 1%. The concentration of use varies according to the operating temperature and application time. In fact, for every 10ºC of temperature higher than ambient temperature, the concentration of use can be reduced to 0.1%, leaving the application time unaltered, for an effective sanitization (10-20 minutes). However, the product cannot be used at a temperature higher than 80ºC.

The action of  BIOSAN CLOREXIDIN is compromised by any residual alkalinity and the product is totally incompatible with sanitizers containing chlorine. After application, rinse accurately and thoroughly using clean water.
